Azure Stack ASDK – Issues using Tenant Portal from VPN’d Device

Are you running Azure Stack 1808 and are you trying to connect to the tenant portal from a VPN connected device? Are you getting issues and the portal looks like this:

Although a user subscription has been enabled, it may look like “rainy clouds”, too.

Error Messages are:

    • Microsoft_Azure_Monitoring extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Insights extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Compute extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_KeyVault extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Network extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Storage extension failed to load
    • SubscriptionManagementExtension extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Marketplace extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_Billing extension failed to load
    • Microsoft_Azure_AD extension failed to load

Azure Stack Logfiles indicate the following issue:

management.local.azurestack.external/batch?api-version=2015-11-01:1 Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
TxL4_LTS2BJB.js:137 OPTIONS https://management.local.azurestack.external/batch?api-version=2015-11-01 net::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

If you double check the certificates on the ASDK host, you will find this:

On the VPN device it looks like this:

Solution:

The RootCA-Certificate is missing. Please export it from the ASDK and import it to the client. Try again and it works properly. 😀
